(San Diego, CA – April 21, 2023) STANDARD Ship Repair (SSR), previously known as STANDARD Inspection Services, recently had one of their employees in their San Diego location recognized by the New Port News Ship Building for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence.
Production Foreman Joseph Andrade has won the Freedom Fighter of the week for the USS Abraham Lincoln which is awarded to contractors that work closely and diligently on our nation’s naval fleets. Andrade leads a team of 30 employees which has been supporting the CVN program for New Port News since September of 2022. Joseph coordinated and executed the job in a timely manner, exceeding the customer’s expectations with the quality and commitment to the project.
This job included pipe fitting, structural fitting, brazing and welding all of which were completed by the ship’s deadline. Multiple tasks with overnight completion turnaround is not typical in this environment, but when it arises, SSR knows how to complete the tasks with ease; just another standard for SSR.
San Diego boasts a large market for naval work and SSR is a main contributor towards the success of the continuation and completion of many projects that come through the bases.
